I had such a fun time watching the Golden Globes last night with a new group of friends. We enjoyed critiquing the dresses and just about everything else. I thought Tina and Amy's opening monologue got off to a slow start but their joke about George and Amal really hit the mark. I made a ballot and took a few risks on my favorites and tried to play it safe on the rest. Turns out I'm halfway decent at predicting the movie categories but downright awful at the television ones. I couldn't be happier about the success for Jane the Virgin and its star, Gina Rodriguez. She deserves every good thing that is coming her way. If you haven't already stated watching it, you must!
Now, on to the gowns!
Yellow was a big trend last night. Leslie Mann, Naomi Watts, and Jenna Dewan Tatum all chose strapless yellow gowns. Jenna's is my favorite of the bunch, and I love her hair and makeup.
There were other colorful dresses last night, too. Gwyneth Paltrow missed the red carpet, but I loved seeing her fun pink dress as a presenter. Amy Adams' ice blue gown made her eyes look unreal! And the details on Allison Williams' dress are so fun.
This dress isn't my favorite, but I had to include it because, Gina!
Katherine Heigl looked better than she has in ages. Are you watching her new show? I love it.
Only Emma Stone could rock a jumpsuit on the red carpet!
Reese Witherspoon and Diane Kruger both wore silvery sheaths, but don't ask me to choose one because I can't.
And now, my Top 5 dresses of the evening:
Which were your favorites?
